According to PREMIUM TIMES, findings showed that claims by the union’s Financial Secretary, Omisakin Kehinde, that the bus was purchased for N2.9 million did not tally with the actual value of N2.5 million written on the receipt.
The union had to change their narration on the purchase upon the discovery, accepting that it paid only N2.5 million for the bus. The President of the union, Oyekan Ibukun, called a congress on Thursday, following the demand of students asking to be addressed on the issues.
He was however ruffled when it was demanded that he step aside from presiding over the congress in view of the allegations against his leadership.
Mr. Ibukun rebuffed the move, resulting in a fight among the students.
The students fought in different locations within the campus, while Mr. Ibukun was beaten up with his clothes torn in shreds.
The wild fight could not be curtailed by the university’s security team, as they watched helplessly the parade of the union president by students who accused him of fraud in the bus purchase.
“Lots of aberration have been committed by the president and I am not even aware of the bus scandal. Iwas not notified before the bus was bought,” the Speaker of the Students Representative Council, Falaye Tope, said, while reacting to the crisis. “I am not responsible for the crisis. It is beyond me, as you can see, I have not intervened in it all.”
The president and the speaker had been at loggerheads before the incident.

According to a report by B-Metro, the angry man whose wife refused to have s*x with because he can’t send her to cloud-nine, reportedly struck her twice on the face with a hoe and she died on the spot.

Endurance who is based in Benin reportedly use the Church as a fertile ground to lure young girls in search of greener pastures into prostitution with the collaboration of the sister in Russia.
One of their victims, a 24-year-old girl gave a narration of how her pastor at the lured her into prostitution.
The lady identified as Florence, a former stylist, dancer and singer while at the church located at Isihor on the Benin-Lagos Expressway in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, said she was tricked while she was 18 years old by Pastor Endurance Eghoze.
According to NewsTelegraph, Florence said Endurance told her to travel to meet his sister based in Russia with the hope of assisting her to look for a greener pasture overseas but ended up in the web of street hawkers there.
She said she worked tirelessly by satisfying several men for four years (2013 to 2017) to pay an agreed sum of $45,000 (about N17.1 million) to her ‘Madam’ and trafficker, Ms. Vivian Eghoze, who later dumped her on the streets of Russia before she was deported home in February.
Recounting her experience, Florence said,
“It all started in 2012 when a member of my church at Isihor, a P called me that he wants to see me in church, so I went. He asked me if I will like to travel out and I told him yes but that I don’t have money and assured me that the money wasn’t a problem”
“He said his sister based in Russia will take me abroad. And I agreed. He said in less than two months I will be able to pay up the money my madam will spend and that since am a hair stylist and singer I will make it. Later I was introduced to the sister abroad who called me, her name is Vivian Ehioze she lived in Russia. I had to borrow money to do my passport. She keeps calling and assuring me that all will be well. I was made to take oath of allegiance”
“As part of oath of allegiance they took hair from my pubic, nails which they kept and said whenever I finished payment I would be free from any evil attack”
Operatives of the state police command have arrested Vivian and her brother, Endurance following a tip-off by an Edo-based Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Initiative for Youths Awareness on Migration, Immigration, Development and Reintegration (IYAMIDR).
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Moses Nkombe, confirmed their arrest, saying, “The matter is being investigated by the police.”
Florence, who has been reunited with her family, is begging for urgent assistance from good-spirited individuals and government, adding that in addition to paying her ‘madam’ the huge sum, she is also battling to save herself from a mysterious ailment.
Vivian and Endurance have allegedly trafficked over 45 girls for prostitutions overseas in a daily torment of satisfying ‘customers’ in the cold night without anything to show for their years of enslavement.
According to victims, their parents and relations wallow in hunger, poverty and emptiness except for the lavish lifestyles of their hosts and their exotic cars and eye-pooping mansions.

“I’ve wanted to talk about this since Monday but due to my birthday matter, I completely forgot until I stumbled on a post about a certain Uber driver I rode with on Monday.
I had an audition Monday morning at Hi-tech estate after Abraham Adesanya.
I requested for an Uber and he stopped by 10 minutes later. Only for me to get to the car and I found a woman in the front seat.
I was confused, was this his rider? Why is she still in the car and I asked him.
He said she was his sister and he wanted to drop her off at Omole.
I was like “Bros, Omole is a long way from Adeniyi Jones and I’m going to Sangotedo in ajah. He now asked if his ‘sister’ could ride with us to ajah that she was bored at home and she didn’t want to stay alone.
I was angry and late for my audition but I decided to ride with them.
Somehow in the car I dozed off for a bit only to wake up to people shouting. He was quarreling with his ‘sister’ turned wife who was angry that he kept checking on me in the rear view mirror.
She said she was tired of his ashawo ways and that’s why she must be in the car for all his trips today.
I was amazed. I was angry. And I was late. So I didn’t say a word to them I just pretended to sleep until we got to ajah round about.
Now he claimed he knew his way and was following the map but before I could say ‘jack’ he entered Badore.
What concerns Badore with Sangotedo? He said that was the direction. I told him to go the other way and the next thing I knew he became very rude.

I was shocked. I called him and he said he was almost where I was. I didn’t say anything o.

Besides it was Sangotedo, before I’ll get another Uber that will take me to Lekki eh, e fit reach night and I didn’t want to take any chances.
It took him almost 20 minute to get to me and he started lying that he’d been waiting for me.
I got to the car and I met his wife again! Haa!

I entered and he said he wanted to start the trip. I’m like what trip? Trip you started over 20.minjtes ago? He said my statement was implicating.
I’m like but it’s the truth. I told him I was going going to Lekki Leisure Lake and I didn’t know my way, he started going towards Awoyaya again!

Half way back to Lekki he suggested I have lunch with him and his wife as compensation.

A woman may have been killed after posting on Facebook late Wednesday night that in just two years she went from being homeless to earning a six-figure income.
That public pride, relatives fear, may have led to Maeva Jenkins’ shooting death barely two hours after she wrote the post.

Just after 2 a.m. Thursday, a masked person knocked on Jenkins’ door, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. When she opened the door, the intruder forced his way inside, leading to an altercation with Jenkins, who was shot. The suspect fled in the family’s vehicle and ditched it nearby, authorities said.
Jenkins, who has three children ranging in age from 1 to 12, was rushed to a hospital where she died.

Norbert Lammert, president of the parliament, said 393 lawmakers voted to approve the amendment, while 226 voted against and four abstained.
Merkel, who will seek a fourth term in a national election on Sept 24, said on Friday she voted against the Bill given her personal view that marriage should be between a man and a woman, but she hoped parliament’s approval of the measure would lead to more social cohesion.
“For me, marriage in the Basic Law is marriage between a man and a woman and that is why I did not vote in favour of this bill today,” she told reporters moments after the 393-266 vote in favour of an amendment that will legalise same-sex marriage.
“I hope that the vote today not only promotes respect between different opinions but also brings more social cohesion and peace,” she added. Many other European countries, including France, Britain and Spain, have already legalised same-sex marriage.

The notorious kidnapper filed a fresh suit where he is seeking N300 million for general and exemplary damages against the police for alleged illegal detention and unconstitutional media trial.
Joined as respondents in his new originating motion are the Nigeria Police Force, the Commissioner of Police Lagos State and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command.
Evans had on June 28 filed an ex parte application with reference number FHC/L/CS/1012/2017, before the same court, seeking an order directing the respondents to charge him to court or release him unconditionally where no charge is preferred against him.
In an affidavit deposed to by his father, Mr Stephen Onwuamadike, it was averred that the applicant has been subjected to media trial without any court order by the respondents.

Onwuamadike further averred that the media trial and news orchestrated by the respondents have continued to generate reactions in both print and electronic media without his son being afforded fair hearing before a court of law.

In his new suit also marked FHC/L/CS/1012/ 2017 and with the same persons as respondents, the applicant is seeking a declaration that his continued detention since June 10 without arraignment, violates his fundamental rights as guaranteed under the 1999 Constitution. He is also seeking a declaration that his parade on June 11 before journalists in Lagos, at the Lagos Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, without any court order, is unconstitutional and illegal .
He is consequently, seeking an order, compelling the respondents to immediately arraign him before a law court, or release him from custody forthwith. ‘Evans’’ is also seeking an order, compelling the respondents to jointly and severally, pay him the sum of N300 million as exemplary damages for illegal detention and alleged harm caused by the alleged media trial.
The suspect is also seeking an order of perpetual injunction, restraining the respondents from further arresting, detaining, harassing, investigating or inviting him in relation to the facts of his case. He is also seeking further orders as the court may deem fit, to make in the circumstances. No date has been fixed for hearing in his latest suit.
