Nigerian senator and CEO, Silverbird group, Ben Bruce has spoken on the Joint Admission Matriculation Board,JAMB’s recent decision to reduce cut off mark for university admission.
Taking to twitter to air his thoughts, Mr Bruce made it known that it is all but silly for JAMB to give the reason for this action as trying to reduce the number of citizens who leave the country to study abroad.
He wrote;
it is silly for JAMBHQ to say they reduced cut off marks to stop Nigerians from going abroad. Only increased educational funding will stop that.
If JAMBHQ reduces Cut off mark and government does not increase spaces available in universities we only create problems instead of solving them
As along as the FG has not increased the capacity of our universities to absorb more intake, reducing cut off marks won’t have any effect
