Bread Seller Turned Model, Olajumoke Orisaguna Celebrates Her First Ever AMVCA Outing

Last night, the bread-seller-turned-model who swept Nigerians off their feet with her surprising rise to fame, made her debut at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards held last night at the Eko Hotel in Lagos.

Dressed in flowing black dress with blue lace top complete with silver accouterments, the Payporte ambassador and model strutted the red carpet, alongside Nigeria’s big wigs.

Recall that the former bread seller was discovered by singer and photographer TY Bello during the ‘Disturbing Lagos’ editorial for ThisDay Style featuring British-Nigerian entertainer and style icon Tinie Tempah in January 2016. By February, Olajumoke landed her first cover on ThisDay, and then the doors were thrown open; she became Nigeria’s hottest model as top brands fought over themselves to collaborate with her.

Soon, the mum of two began staying away from the headlines and this started an uproar as Nigerians claimed the model had been tossed off the spotlight after being used for media gains. But she resurfaced on social media to reveal her latest project.

Now, she has made her debut outing at the AMVCAs.

“It was a great experience for me. I had so much fun and I learnt a lot. There’s a world out there that I’ve got to see and there’s a woman that I’m destined to be. #greatful #thankful #AMVCA,” she finished.
