When you are rich and famous, even your picture turn expensive.
Khloe Kardashian is being reportedly being sued for posting a photo of herself and sister Kourtney Kardashian on her Instagram page.
According to the photo agency Xposure Photos which filed for the suit against the Kardashian sisters, the photo was taken as Khloe and Kourtney headed to Komodo restaurant in Miami on Instagram in September last year.
Court documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Xposure Photos claims it had licensed the photo to the Daily Mail and KK did not have permission to use the image on social media.
There was a claim that Khloe posted the photo on September 14, 2016 the image “had been altered to remove the CMI [copyright management information] which shows plaintiff as the copyright owner of the image,” the complaint obtained by The Hollywood Reporter states.
US Weekly reports that a statement released by the company said that it would have profited from the picture further, had Khloe not posted it to her IG fans.
“Kardashian’s Instagram post made the photograph immediately available to her nearly 67 million followers and others, consumers of entertainment news — and especially news and images of Kardashian herself, as evidenced by their status as followers of Kardashian —who would otherwise be interested in viewing licensed versions of the photograph in the magazines and newspapers that are plaintiff’s customers,” the statement reads in part.
The British-based photo agency is reportedly demanding damages of up to $150,000.
