After the failed attempt of the textile woman Mrs. Titilayo Momoh, to commit suicide on the 3rd mainland bridge, she was charged to court for attempted suicide.
Ebute-Meta Magistrates Court, Lagos, on Monday ordered Mrs. Titilayo Momoh, to undergo psychiatric evaluation following her arraignment by the police
The 58 year old textile dealer was granted N500,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
The woman was on March 24 stopped from jumping off the 3rd Mainland Bridge into the Lagoon by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command.
During police questioning, Momoh, who resides in Lekki Lagos, stated that she was hugely indebted to three Swiss textile dealers and wanted to commit suicide as a result of the depression associated with the debt.
The member of her RCCG parish disclosed that on several occasions, she had attempted to see her Parish Pastor to identify with her problem and for the church to help her raise money, all to no avail.
