A woman was hit by a car while trying to cross the road during the time she was on a call on her phone.
This sad occurrence happened in Chonburi province, Thailand, and was captured on video by another motorist.
The 40-year-old woman, identified as Sudchada Bureepia, survived the accident, but suffered a broken skull.
She was immediately rushed to the Phyathai Sriracha Hospital but died at the hospital on Thursday, May 12.
Sudchada’s husband, Prasong said his wife had taken their daughter to a hospital and was walking home, when the accident occurred.
He said that he didn’t expect his wife to pass away so early, and now he is worried about his two children. He does not blame the driver, Mongkorn Somsud, who hit his wife.
Prasong warned people not to use mobile phones while crossing the road and also asked other motorists to drive carefully.
The driver who hit Suchada, Mangkorn Somsut said that he didn’t see the woman but he has been charged with reckless driving causing death.
