Some of Cheick Tiote’s last words have been revealed by a close pal. The former Newcastle star tragically died aged 30 after collapsing in training for Chinese club Beijing Enterprises.
Designer Yusuf Abubakar Tumi shared the final WhatsApp messages he received from the Ivorian.
Yusuf captioned his post: “Our last conversation this morning and he said ‘may Allah grant us paradise and not the luxury of this world.’
May his soul rest in peace, He added.
