Missing Baby ‘Borrowed’ to Neighbour By His Mom Has Been Found

Nine months old baby, Gift Nojahi, who went missing for one week after his 25-year-old mother, Abongile Nojahi, “lent” him to her friend, has been re-united with his mother today, Tuesday the 13th.

Gift was reported missing after his mother’s friend failed to turn the baby to his mother after a trip to a shopping mall.

 

According to reports, Abongile’s 17-year-old neighbour, Zanele Mchunu (pictured), was in the habit of coming around to “borrow” the baby for outing. .

Nojahi said,

“I’m happy that my baby has been found; that’s what matters the most. I have no problem with what she did and I would definitely forgive her, since I do not even know the reason why she disappeared with the baby. .

The baby is back with me now,”

Police spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala stated that the baby was found alive on Sunday, June 11.

“The baby was first taken to a place of safety after he was found.

“The suspect was arrested and charged for kidnapping after she was traced to her hideout.” “She appeared in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday and court appearance results are unknown at this stage,” Gwala said.

The incident, which happened in Mt Moriah in Phoenix, South Africa, has raised many question on the ‘borrowing’ aspect.
