The struggles between the executive and the National Assembly, regarding the 2017 budget has evidently taken a turn for the worse when Senate reduced money allocated for Lagos Ibadan expressway.
Senate yesterday, opened up on why it reduced funds allocated for the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, and spread it across other projects not initially provided for in the budget proposed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Aliu Saabi Abdullahi, Senate spokesperson, who clarified the position of the upper chamber of the NASS accused Works, Power and Housing Minister, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, of being deceitful and selfish in his handling of matters concerning the road project .
